More Good Things!

It has come to this librarian's attention that we have added a HUGE selection of junior fiction/young adult series to our line-up! I just happened to glance at the Publisher's Weekly Top 15 List and realized that we have most of the books listed there. That's amazing and, of course, good for our patrons.

Hot Books (RIGHT NOW!)
1. Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer (this series is ALL THE RAGE; request your copy TODAY!)
2. Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini (becoming a major motion picture series!)
3. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordian (Percy Jackson series)
4. Alex Rider Adventures by Anthony Horowitz
5. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid (laugh out loud funny!)

This little library in Mulberry, Florida is making itself known more and more every day. We are beginning to plan a summer program (again) for our teens and young children alike. We hope to see you down here, checking out what we have to offer!

Also, if you are an adult and are looking for the hottest new titles on the Publisher's Weekly List, we have those too.

1. Plum Spooky by Janet Evanovich
2. Black Ops by W.E.B. Griffin
3. Scarpetta by Patricia Cornwell
4. Cross Country by James Patterson
5. Fire and Ice by Julie Garwood

Keep checking with us to see what fantastic new titles we have added to our collection. You will NOT be disappointed!

More exciting news!

Time has passed so quickly! I know it's been months and months since anything was posted about our library and we apologize for that. It's been crazy around here. Lots of change! We have a new director; her name is Cheri. She is responsible for changing a lot of things and it's fantastic! We have many goals for 2009 and we plan to do everything possible to achieve those goals.

Lately, we have been adding new series to our Junior Fiction section and to our Young Adult section. If you haven't been by to check out the new Young Adult section, I definitely recommend it! We've done our research and have purchased what we believe to be the most popular in the Young Adult circuit today.

Here are some examples of full series we have just purchased:

The Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld

The Lightning Thief series by Rick Riordan

Pendragon series by D.J. McHale

As you can see, we are always trying to make each genre within the library the best it can be. We have expanded our "libros en espanol" section greatly over the past couple of months. Many of our hispanic patrons have taken a large interest in these materials.

What type of subjects do YOU like? We don't know unless you come to visit us at the Dr. C.C. Pearce Municipal Library. Come down and say hi to the new director or to meet our newest employee, Annabeth! We look forward to seeing your smiling face soon!

***Please note that the Dr. C.C. Pearce Municipal Library will be at the Evelyn Bryant Festival on February 7th from 10AM to 4PM. Join Cheri and Annabeth in making fun crafts throughout the day!***
